Book intelligence
-
Structure and cast
POV lanes, head-hop warnings, presence gaps, cast load and relationship threads.
-
Pace and drag
Mood arc, tension flatlines, narrative velocity and dialogue ratio.
-
Revision signal
Scene purpose balance, style heatmaps, revision priority and a continuity audit.
-
Synthesis
Arc memos, a read of your act structure, and a subplot tracker.
Production, not preparation
What counts is a readable book: prose on the page. Plot cards and world catalogues feel like work, and can keep you from writing.
So everything in Manuscript has the same shape: interrupt, resolve, return to the page. Forgot a name? Check the character list and keep typing.
Who it's for
- Novelists, long-form fiction, and narrative non-fiction with scene structure
- Authors who think in chapters, POV, arcs and acts, not documents and notes
Written for books
Plain Markdown can't model what books need, so Manuscript uses a small markup for them. Your files stay as they are on disk, and Bindery reads the same format when it's time to publish.
